What does a typical Italian woman look like in the summer? If you need the answer in short, then in the summer, all Italians (even men) dress up with a bit of elegance and panache. In this regard, a typical woman, even one without kids, can be described as: Dressed up to go to work (coincidentally) either straight from work or after working out in the gym.
She wears: 6-8 pairs of nice shoes, some (that have been chosen more carefully than others) are very expensive. She wears blouses/tops that are both classy and comfortable. She wears a scarf or perhaps even a hat. She wears a jacket/blazer that is both classy and casual. A nice summer dress with nice shoes that match is a MUST.
Since she works outside in all weathers, she wore sunglasses more often than any other garment. Sometimes, the sunglasses are oversized too. She will wear cute necklaces and earrings (sometimes big ones!). She will wear high heels with a suit. She will wear the most stylish handbag. She dresses up well even in the morning (regardless of whether she had breakfast). -She’s old school in the sense that she often dresses in pieces that are simple, relaxed, yet extremely fashionable. For example, a typical Italian woman will wear a dress or skirt and blouse on most days of the week except Sunday.
-She may wear a different style on certain days of the week. On Wednesday, she might go for an all white outfit with colorful accessories like jewelry or shoes. On Friday and Saturday, she could be wearing more vibrant colors to help kick off the weekend.
-She’s a fashionista in the sense that she cares what people think of her. She knows what the latest trends are and which colors work best with each other/her skin color.
-She might be over 35, but she still dresses to impress. A typical Italian woman wears her best clothes on a Sunday afternoon when she goes out for coffee with her friends or to church.

-She doesn’t follow trends blindly because she knows they don’t work with her skin color/being overweight/hair color/eye color. You can never go wrong with classic colors like black, white and red, in addition to neutrals such as browns and beiges that never seem to go out of style.
-She doesn’t wear clothes that are designed to get her attention in a sexual way or that show too much skin. She wears clothes that she knows will look good on her at any time of the day and night, even if they’re a little snug.
-She stays in style and tells the truth about how the latest fashion trends do not look good on her. She’ll say that she is going to spend her money on something else if it does not look good on her.
-She knows what is valuable and doesn’t waste money on fads, trends or anything deemed as trashy by others.
-She is an advocate of style but respects traditional values.
-She wears clothes that are tailored to fit her like a glove and makes sure that items that are too big or too small aren’t worn in public. She never leaves the house looking anything less than polished.
-She doesn’t care about the latest trends because she knows what works for her body type, hair color/eye color/complexion. She knows how to make trends work for her.
-She knows how to wear neutrals with neutrals as well as how to contrast colors in order to make an outfit pop.
-She is above all else chic yet feminine at the same time so that she feels beautiful every day of the week, even if it is just around the house.
A woman who emulates the above is considered a typical Italian woman when it comes to fashion and style in Italy and other parts of Europe. For example, a French woman would typically dress similarly, except she’d be more likely to wear pants (not always) and might not wear as many accessories or vibrant colors. A German woman would also have a similar style, but maybe she’d be more likely to wear jeans (never in public though!) or pants and her clothes might be a little bit more on the conservative side.
